Living Positively With Disability

Living Positively With Disability
A community where the disabled, chronically ill, their carers and anyone else interested in living positively can share ideas and grow together.

One billion people, or 15% of the world’s population, experience some form of disability. I would like to provide a voice and community where the disabled, chronically ill, their carers and anyone else interested in living positively can share ideas and grow together.

I have my own areas of experience (care giving, education, Arthritis, Autism, Epilepsy, Irlen Syndrome, Dyslexia, hearing impairment) and a professional background in research. But the world-wide disabled and/or chronically ill community is as varied as any other generic population and so I am mostly writing about the general ways in which these conditions affect us, with some specific education and direction to expert advice where I can give it.

My Story…

I have Osteoarthritis and a neurological disorder (still being investigated, affecting my hands and left leg) and I am mum to a 13yr old with severe Autism and Epilepsy.

I really want to embrace ways in which we can build lives worth living, in spite of our struggles. I am on a journey towards living life to the fullest extent and I would love to share ideas with others who are also on that journey.
