Life Of Pippa
My name is Pippa, I’m 23 years old and I’m based in Yorkshire, UK.
I’m a psychology graduate, and currently split my time between blogging and freelance writing, working in digital marketing for a disability charity, and running my own social enterprise, Spoonie Survival Kits. In my free time I enjoy theatre, books and fundraising, and can often be found in my natural habitat: drinking tea and wearing pyjamas.
Halfway through my undergraduate degree at the University of York, I acquired a debilitating chronic illness. This completely changed my sporty, active way of life and it took a huge amount of time and effort to really find my feet and begin to feel like ‘myself’ again.
When things started to feel a little less like the end of the world, I started to engage with media opportunities, speaking up about life as a student with a long-term condition. In 2015, I founded my very own social enterprise, Spoonie Survival Kits, and it was from here that the advocacy opportunities really began to arise.
I’ve always been a writer, but it was during this time that I realised that I was rather enjoying these experiences, and wanted to branch out from writing only on health and disability. Living with a long-term chronic illness has taught me to find humour in even the most unfortunate situations, giving rise to plenty of what are now well-known among friends as ‘Life Of Pippa’ moments. Therefore, I decided to launch my own blog of the same name, featuring some of my favourite things: theatre and books, as well as lifestyle and fundraising.
