Feeling lonely? Join us with the FREE Chronic Warrior Collective Card Swap+A SPOONIE GIVEAWAY

If there’s anything we need right now, its a sense of community and a reminder we’re not alone. Whilst we find lots of this online-through blogs we read and Facebook groups-sometimes a message from a stranger saying ‘YOU GOT THIS’ can just make our day too.

AD-We are working with Chronic Warrior Collective and some of our bloggers to promote their amazing FREE ‘Christmas in July’ card swap and run a special giveaway.

This month, Chronic Illness Bloggers is really excited to be working with Chronic Warrior Collective to promote their amazing Christmas in July card swap and bring you a special giveaway to win prizes from small businesses all within our community.

How does the card swap work?

Well, it’s really really simple. Sign up to send a physical or digital card (the latter is an option if you haven’t got a reliable post at the moment or can’t get to a post office) to a fellow spoonie and receive one back. It’s completely free, your match won’t get any identifying details and there are spoonies from 21 countries across the world joining up!

I signed up for the swap myself this month and I really loved being a part of it and will continue to do so. It took only a minute to sign up and I simply had to provide my email address and a note about myself (I shared I had a son and was a writer) for my sender. If you’re particularly concerned then Chronic Warrior Swap suggests creating a specific email account for the swap, but I was happy to share my regular email instead. Of course, if opting for the physical card swap you will need to give the sender your address-although, again, you may use something like a PO Box if you have concerns about this.

On the 1st of the month, I received an email to opt-in to the swap and I received a notification in my inbox that my match was ready on the 5th! I had a few details from my match-who lived in the US and, like me, was a mum of one- and had a lovely half hour picking out a digital e-card and writing a message. I loved just taking that time out of my day to make somebody smile!

A day later, I received a card from my own match. To clarify, this isn’t necessarily a pen pal service; so whilst you can reply to your message, the person you send a card to isn’t the same as the person you get one from! My email came from a mum in the UK, who shared a photo of herself along with some snippets of her day which I loved reading about.

Whilst I’m lucky enough to be kept occupied with a toddler, I know this is such a lonely time for many of us and I think the Chronic Warrior Collective swap is such a great idea.

Chronic Warrior Collective ‘Christmas in July’ Swap

It might seem a LONG way off right now but I love Christmas! Whether it’s the socialising, the presents or just the feel-good atmosphere. The chronic warrior collective is attempting to replicate this with their very own christmas in July swap, which we are hoping as many of you as possible will join in with us!

We hope to help the collective make this month the most successful yet but also help lots of readers and bloggers feel more connected. So why not sign up for free to brighten somebody’s day-and your own! Just click here to sign up and take part.

The Big Spoonie Giveaway

Once you’ve signed up, we’d love you to spread the word to other spoonies.

To say a big thank you for doing this, we’ve also purchased some items from small businesses within our chronic illness bloggers community to giveaway to those of you who do.

Signing up to the card service isn’t essential to enter the giveaway (We only want cards to be sent from those who really want to join in so it’s fair to the recipients) but we’d really love it if you did.

Entering and sharing the giveaway not only helps us spread the word about this free event but gives you the chance of winning a prize and helps promote small businesses-all from bloggers in the chronic illness bloggers community. Several bloggers have kindly also signed up to share this giveaway and you can also opt to follow them as an entry choice.
